Principal/Owner
Mandy Whorton is the Principal and Owner of Peak Consulting Group, LLC, bringing over 30 years of experience in transportation planning, environmental policy, and NEPA compliance. A graduate of the University of Denver with a Master’s in Environmental Policy and Management and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Mexico, Mandy’s career has been defined by her ability to blend technical expertise with collaborative, community-focused problem solving. She’s known for her streamlined approach to complex NEPA processes and her commitment to delivering projects that balance environmental responsibility with practical design and mobility needs.
Throughout her career, Mandy has guided countless transportation and infrastructure projects across Colorado and the western U.S., including major efforts for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). Her work spans every stage of project delivery—from early planning and environmental linkages studies to permitting, design, and construction monitoring. She has played a leading role in projects like the I-70 Floyd Hill improvements, where her leadership helped secure $100 million in federal funding, and the I-270 Corridor Improvements Project, where she continues to foster transparent, inclusive engagement between agencies and corridor communities.
Mandy is an active member of professional organizations including the American Council of Engineering Companies in Colorado, the Women’s Transportation Seminar, and the American Planning Association. Her approach is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and grounded in collaboration—qualities that make her a trusted advisor to clients, partners, and stakeholders alike. Whether leading environmental evaluations or facilitating public meetings, Mandy brings a steady hand and a clear vision for building transportation systems that serve both people and place.
