Our founders bring more than 25 years of experience on the projects that have shaped how Colorado moves, and started Peak in 2017 to build something different: a firm where great work and shared values are the whole point. We're a woman-owned team of specialists who show up as partners — to our clients, to each other, and to the communities our projects serve.
Our Story
Colleen Kirby Roberts and Mandy Whorton met twenty years ago working on some of the West's largest and most complex transportation projects. Over time, like a lot of people in this industry, they found themselves stretched thin and far from the work they loved, sometimes literally. In 2017 they founded Peak to get back to it: a firm rooted in Colorado, where talented people could do meaningful work near home, show up as genuine partners, and stay invested in the projects and communities that matter most to them.
Some of our closest friendships grew out of this work, and we stay deeply connected to the industry because those relationships matter to us — and because we believe the best work happens when people invest in each other. We're invested in the next generation of transportation and environmental professionals, and committed to making this industry one worth staying in.
Peak is certified DBE, ESB, EBE, and SBE in Colorado, California, and Nevada. As a woman-owned firm, that identity runs deeper than certification — it shapes how we lead, how we treat people, and the kind of workplace and industry we're working to build. Mandy serves on the board of MOVE Colorado and Colleen on DRCOG's Technical Advisory Committee. Both are active members of WTS, ACEC, and COMPTO.
